You're probably reading this because you'd like to know a little bit more about me/ BO_xox.
My training background is acrobatic. I started training contortion first and then moved onto other circus arts such as aerial silk, static trapeze and aerial hoop. I first started at the local Art of Dance Studio when I was 11 years old and then became a member of Westcoast Contortion when I was 16. Continuing my training in Las Vegas with world renowned Mongolian contortionist, Otgo Waller and Aerialist Kristi Togochi when I was 19. I started performing professional around Vancouver in 2005.
My body and abilities are a direct result of dedication and the passion that I have for this art. When I first start I was not a desired body-type. My legs/ hip flexibility was average and my back was stiff. I trained hard and still do and I continue to push my limits even now. I truly love this way of training and I can't get enough of the mental and physical challenges!
After performing in Las Vegas at a contortion convention for kids in 2009 my dance partner and I were offered a few jobs and decided that we wanted to go work abroad. I spent 5 years performing on cruise ships and resorts. I'm one of the few people who really love their job. I was able to travel and see so much, taking contracts in Northern Europe, Mediterranean, Eastern Canada, 2 contracts in the Caribbean and 2 contracts exploring South Africa. I had to opportunity to leave in Egypt for 8 months and Turkey for 2 months.
I started my instagram account when I came home in 2014 just so I could post my training somewhere. Since I wasn't training with/ under anyone it was a way to keep myself accountable, I wanted to see what I was capable of and to be ready for another contract if it came up. Its really amazing to share my passion with so many people around the world. I love working with people on their own goals/ journey To see their progressions is truly rewarding. All of my training consists of what you see in my account along with cardio and basic core exercises. Body weight training is amazing! To have strong functional muscles is the best!
Currently I am now living in the Vancouver area sharing my passion through my performing and teaching around the lower mainland. I run my own classes through the week and if you'd like to give my training techniques a try drop me an email anytime!
